10 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You About holidays in spanish

I like to start my holidays in spanish with a big ole bowl of soup. I don’t get tired of it and it always makes me feel better. When I am in Spain I usually make a pot of my favorite soup (that is always a big bowl of soup) and I enjoy it with a good book.

In the summertime, a lot of Spanish homes are filled with Christmas lights. It makes the whole place seem so festive and spooky. While that is a nice break from all the stress of the holidays, I am not sure why we should be celebrating in the middle of the hot, sun, and humid summer. If we’re going to take breaks from the holidays, why not go for a nice holiday dinner and watch a movie.

In our own case, we enjoy the same sort of holidays in the summertime. The only difference is that we have some pretty serious stress that comes with it. That stress takes the form of a serious car accident. Our daughter has been hit by a car and we are left wondering if she will survive. The thought of a long hospital stay has us on edge with worry, but we do what we can to take care of her. The thing is we have her room.

We have the room, but not the room to sleep in. We’re basically going to have to find a hotel room in a different city entirely unless we know the difference between a hotel and a motel. Luckily we have friends who know a few different cities and we can arrange for something with the help of one of them. But we still don’t know if she’s going to make it. As of today we are just hoping.

We are hoping. As it turns out, that is a lot to hope for. As in, we hope to be able to spend every single holiday with her, and that makes us want to pee in our hands more, but we’re just hoping. We are hoping. As it turns out, that is a lot to hope for.

I think the Spanish word for “holiday” is “la semana”. As it turns out, that makes the entire idea of holidaying that much more appealing.

At least in Spain, the phrase “la semana” is used to allude to the coming of a new year. It’s a phrase that is used in everyday conversation, but it’s not a holiday. The week that precedes the new year is called “la semana de Navidad.” As in, the week that precedes the new year.

In Spain, the new year is usually called el Nacimiento and begins on December 31. So we have a new term for the new year, or the week leading up to it. The word la semana is a shortened form of the word la semana de Navidad, which is equivalent to the Spanish word Navidad. La semana is the name of the week that precedes a new year.

So how do we know you’re not a new Spanish citizen? You don’t. Every time I say that in my Spanish class, my students always say they don’t speak spanish. Maybe it’s because I tend to use the word el here and the word nuevo when speaking with them. But in Spanish, they’re not talking about the new year, which is called la semana de Navidad.
